The Birch top is a slightly oversized apron top, featuring an relaxed yet elegant silhouette. Perfect for layering, this darling top is a comfy, versatile piece designed for effortless wear. It is finished with two signature Studio Minapop bows on the sides, creating a playful and whimsical look 🪡

This pattern comes in a wide ranges of sizes and includes two variations: 

  • The original cropped version
  • A brand new long version 

The layering options make this design a perfect addition to your year-round wardrobe, with lots of styling options available for both the colder and warmer months.

Sizing

XS to 4XL (EU 32-62 / US 2-32)

Waist: 60 - 120 cm (23.6" - 47.25")

The bodice of the Birch top was designed without bust shaping. You can follow this tutorial on how to add bust darts to add shaping if needed.

Difficulty level

Advanced beginner

Techniques used in this pattern:
  • gathering the ruffle
  • attaching a lining to the bodice

This project is completed from start to finish without using a serger/overlocker.

Fabric and notions

  • 0,9 - 1,5 m (1 - 1 2/3 yds) of light to medium weight woven fabric (cotton or linen is ideal for this project)
  • 0,30 - 0,60 m (1/3 - 2/3 yds) of lining fabric
  • matching thread
